J was home for our outside time one morning last week and I made an obstacle course in the backyard. We all took turns going through it and cheering each other on.
The jump rope is the starting line. Throw the ball in the bucket. Step into the hoola hoop and do 5 jumping jacks. Hop side to side several times over the swim noodle. Kick the soccer ball between the cones (at the end, but not pictured). And run zig zag thru another set of cones back to the fence.
There are so many ways to have fun using things you have in your backyard. We have races and play tag and catch bubbles and practice different sports skills.
Next time I'm going to design a course that involves balancing bean bags on our heads. The sillier things get, the more fun we have!
