My poor deprived children...

This week was the first week of school for the children in our district. Here's how we spent the first day of school:

We did learn something this week. In addition to our Abeka program, Drew read me two Usborne Beginners books - Sun, Moon and Stars and Living in Space. I read him a book called If You Decide to Go to the Moon. Then we made Moon books telling what we learned about the moon.

We also made paper plate suns using cut outs in the shape of their hands.

I also learned something new this week. I finished sewing my cloth napkins. We started them one day this summer and had to stop because I was sick. It seemed like a monumental task then, but now that I'm feeling better, I finished them up in no time. And the seams are straight. Well, most of them.

*grin* Isn't it just a joy to spend time with our children?

We were walking down a country road to the creek with a snack the other day, and a yellow bus filled with kids passed and I was just filled with thankfulness my boys were with me.
