About school...

We're not planning to "officially" start first grade until next month, but so much of what we do in a typical day involves learning. Here's what we did Friday.

Science: Drew played with worms during our outside time. I managed not to say "eeeewwww", but I did order him not to come near me with the worms nor touch me with fingers that had touched one!

When we came in we read Wiggling Worms at Work which told about worms, their bodies, their lifecycle and their function in nature, and I was surprised by how much he remembered when telling J about it that night.

Math: We played hopscotch (numbers, counting) and made playdoh (measuring).

Reading: Drew reads something daily and I try to make sure I read aloud to him daily. I bought a few books from the Sonlight Level C reading list and we'll read through those this year. Last week we finished up My Father's Dragon.

PE: Drew had a t-ball game.

Art: I taped a sheet of roll paper to the floor and the kids colored while I "ooh" and "ahh"ed over Zay. He's such a cutie!!!
